There was a big shake up in the volleyball rankings this week with two of VYPE’s top 10 teams falling short to district rivals. Oak Ridge had not beat The Woodlands since 2005 and came out ready to play on their home court. The Lady War Eagles upset The Woodlands 3-1 on Tuesday night. Oak Ridge is already headed to the playoffs¬†and this huge win has fueled their fire for more wins in the postseason. Despite this tough loss, The Highlanders are still on track to clench district with wins over Summer Creek and Kingwood.

On the northwest side of town Cy Falls served an unexpected loss to Cy-Fair. The Golden Eagles swept their district foes in a 3-0 win Tuesday night. Cy-Fair had not lost a district match since October 19, 2012. Cy Falls is already in the playoffs and with this win may have locked in 3rd place in district.
