UIL releases 2014-16 classification cutoff enrollment numbers

VYPE-Texas-BoxThe UIL’s biennial reclassification and realignment (Feb.3) is still two months away but the governing body of Texas public schools extracurricular activities — including athletics — gave administrators, coaches, players and fan plenty to think about with Monday’s release of the classification cutoff numbers for the 2014-16 school years.

The figures include the new Class 6A, a result of the UIL splitting 1A into two divisions.

Here are the enrollment ranges for all six classifications, plus the Division I-II cutoff figures for football playoffs, from the UIL:

5A 1,060 – 2,099

4A 465 – 1,059
