“They are not only getting a running back, they are getting a young man that will enrich that program in every aspect on and off the field,” Crosby Offensive Coordinator Johnnie Freeman said. “To be such a high-rated prospect he is one of the most humble kids I know.
“I give praise to his parents because they are doing a phenomenal job getting him ready for life. So Baylor is getting a young man who will be an awesome teammate and a big-time playmaker.”
Williams is the 24th-ranked prospect in the VYPE Hot 100 list for 2018 and is the highest rated running back on the list.
On that list, Williams joins Katy offensive lineman Connor Galvin (Katy), defensive tackle Joshua Landry (Lamar), defensive back Christian Morgan (Porter), running back Stanley Hackett (Sam Rayburn), wide receiver Mark Milton (Clear Brook) and linebacker Joseph Ogunbanjo (Alief Taylor) to have pledged to Baylor.
Williams has rushed for 2,200 yards in his career at Crosby, pairing that with 611 receiving yards and 33 total touchdowns.
Along with the success on the football field, Williams is a star on the track. Last season, Williams took bronze at the UIL State Track and Field Championships posting a 10.45 time. His fastest time in the season was a 10.23 posted at the UIL 5A 21-22 Area Meet.
“They are getting a very special kid,” Crosby coach Jeff Riordan said. “A once in a lifetime type of kid. He has it all. Character, work ethic and ability. He is a pleasure to coach everyday. He is a great kid who will do big things.
“He has done everything right.”
