Oklahoma City Area Top 100 Girls Poll (Top 8 Voted Players Will Get Automatic Bid to the Semifinals) – Presented by Eskridge Honda (Polls Close January 28th)

VYPE Oklahoma is proud to present the Shelter Insurance 2018 Miss Basketball Oklahoma Award. 100 of the top basketball players in the state have been selected to represent their schools as they compete for the title of Miss Basketball. Voting for the Miss Basketball Award is accomplished via online voting at VYPEOK.com.

The initial  poll will be region-based and will last till January 28th. The top vote-getters in each region will receive automatic bids to Semifinals of the Miss Basketball Award. VYPE Magazine will cut the list down from 100 players to 50 on February 1st.

Jessi Murcer
Westmoore Lady Jags
Sr. 5-8 Combo Guard
3 Fast Facts: The highly recruited guard has signed with Oklahoma. She drinks a Rip-Tide Gatorade before every game. She will be Pre-Med in college after carrying a GPA in HS of 4.36.

Claire Chastain
Dale Lady Pirates
Sr. 6-0 Power Forward
3 Fast Facts: Chastain has signed with the University of Texas-Arlington. Her favorite place to play is the Big House and she is predicting a state championship for Dale. In college Chastain wants to study criminal justice.

Hannah Stanley
Heritage Hall Lady Chargers
Jr. 5-5 Point Guard
3 Fast Facts: Stanley is being recruited by several schools at the next level including Northwestern, Loyola, UC San Diego, Austin College, University of the Pacific and several others. She is a member of the FCA and carries a 3.66 GPA. Stanley holds two school records and has been named player of the year twice.

3 Fast Facts: Nero plans to attend Northwestern State in Louisiana next year. She loves riding horses and her favorite player is LeBron James. She wears #3 because she is the third sibling.

Fr. 6-2 Forward
3 Fast Facts: Only a freshman, Moore is being recruited by OU, OSU, Arkansas, Alabama State, Louisville, Texas and more. Soccer was her first sport of choice. One day she hopes to play in the WNBA.

3 Fast Facts: The senior would like to study psychology in college. Her greatest asset on the court could be her quickness and ability to get to the basket. She wears #11 because her father wore that number when he played for MWC.

Peyton Andrews

Fr. 5-9 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Andrews has a long list of schools interested in her talents including OSU, Arkansas, OU, Iowa State and South Dakota. At one time Andrews was a gymnast and wants to become an orthopedic surgeon.

Taylor Norman
Edmond Memorial Lady Bulldogs
Jr. 5-6 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Norman is being recruited by Air Force, Missouri Southern and the University of Pennsylvania. Last season Norman was named 2nd Team All-Conference. She wears #23 because he father wore that number in college.

Callie Martin
Community Christian School
Sr. 5-4 Combo Guard
3 Fast Facts: Last season was All-State honorable mention and the Offensive Player of the Year at CCS. Martin would like to become an Optometrist. On the court Martin is a determined player who plays with controlled aggression.

K. Raelene Eddens

Sr. 5-11 Forward
3 Fast Facts: Eddens has decided to take her talents to Oral Roberts University next season. She has received a ton of honors including Player of the Year awards, All-Tournament teams and MVP of the Jane Blitz tournament. She wears #23 because her mother wore that number at Luther HS.

Jr. 5-7 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Last season Stevenson was named Newcomer of the Year. She is a member of National Honor Society and carries a 4.0 GPA. Stevenson is a member of the varsity softball team at Douglass.

Bailey Golden

Sr. 5-11 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Golden was named to the All-Tournament teams in the TOC and the state tournament. She wants to be Pre-Med in college and is being recruited by OSU. Golden loves to fish.

3 Fast Facts: In 2015-16 Skanes was named Newcomer of the Year. She has been recruited by Florida International University. What makes her tough to defend is her ability to get baskets from any spot on the floor.

3 Fast Facts: Lorne is headed to Wichita State next season. She carries a 4.03 GPA and is in National Honor Society. Lorne said her parents are her role models and her mother was strong through two years of breast cancer.

Katelyn Levings

So. 6-3 Forward
3 Fast Facts: Levings is being recruited by Oklahoma State and Oklahoma. She would like to study occupational therapy in college. Last season she was named to the 2nd team All-Conference squad and she carries a 4.0 GPA.

Lauryn Reither

Jr. 5-6 Point Guard
3 Fast Facts: Reither is being recruited by Idaho State, USAO and Utah Valley. Currently carrying a 3.75 GPA, Reither would like to study sports medicine in college. Reither was named 1st team All-Conference last year.

Jr. 6-3 Shooting Guard
3 Fast Facts: O’Conner is a long, solid defender who can dribble and shoot. O’Conner would like to study sports medicine in college and carries a 3.1 GPA. His favorite player is Kevin Durant and he wears #22 because it’s a family number.

Gabrielle Guzman

Sr. 5-2 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Guzman was named to the All-Conference honorable mention and All-Academic Achievement Team last season. Guzman belongs to several clubs at Moore including STUCO, FCA, NHS, Key Club and Spanish Club. Guzman is a San Antonio Spurs fan.

3 Fast Facts: Fields has committed to the University of California-Berkeley. Fields was honored as an Adidas All-American, OK Prep Player of the Week and made the 6A All-Tournament team. The combo guard wears #33 because it was her fathers number.

Olivia Curtis

Jr. 5-11 Forward/Post
3 Fast Facts: Curtis is being recruited by OSU and West Texas A&M. She would like to study sports medicine and kinesiology in college. Her favorite place to play is the Big House. Curtis sees the floor extremely well and she’s a competitor.

Veronica Harjo

Sr. 5-9 Combo Guard
3 Fast Facts: Harjo is being recruited by Oklahoma City University and she carries a 3.89 GPA. Her sophomore and junior season she was named All-City 2nd team. Harjo is known for her shooting and hustle on the defensive end of the court.

3 Fast Facts: Orr has received interest from Ottawa, Avila, and Kansas Wesleyan. Orr was named to the All-Tournament team last season and was 2nd team All-Conference. She is known for her shooting ability and having a lot of heart.

Alexis Redwine

3 Fast Facts: Redwine belongs to several clubs including STUCO, FCA and the National Honor Society. She carries a 4.38 GPA and would like to study physical therapy in college. Her honors include All-Tournament team at Hinton, VYPE Young Guns and Newcomer of the Year.

3 Fast Facts: Crawford is being recruited by several local schools in Oklahoma and she carries a 4.0 GPA at OCA. She was named Little All-City track 2nd team. She is a fast, quick player that can finish. When she’s not playing you can find her at Fuzzy’s Taco Shop.

3 Fast Facts: Freeman is a member of STUCO and FCA. Known for her work ethic, Freeman brings excellent vision, speed and perseverance to the court. Before every game she prays and has worn #1 since she was young.

Kamri Heath

Jr. 5-8 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Heath currently holds offers from Northwestern State-LA, UCO, and Missouri Southern. She is being recruited by Air Force, Omaha and Texas State. Heath is a 4.0 student and a member of NHS. She wants to go to med school and continue to play basketball.

Korbyn LeBlanc

Jr. 6-0 Guard
3 Fast Facts: Korbyn is a member of Student Council, her class Chaplain, and a member of the Global Fellowship Club. She is apart of the drama department and has gotten leads in her past two musicals. She works at a camp for individuals with special needs called Make Promises Happen.
