The No. 5-ranked Reagan Rattlers prepare to surpass their Regional Semis appearance from a year ago
With May just around the corner, it’s officially playoff time in Texas high school baseball.
District races have been decided, brackets are set, and now the road to Dell Diamond begins—with more hardware up for grabs in June.
New Braunfels (23-6) retains their top spot in the SATX rankings, though sharing the District 26-5A title with third-ranked Boerne-Champion (23-7). Both now enter separate postseason divisions with a chance to make deep runs.
In Class 6A, Clemens continues to live up to its billing as one of the region’s most formidable programs, edging San Marcos by a game in a competitive 29-6A race.
Reagan remains a serious contender as well, having once again dominated District 27-6A and looking to improve on last season’s Regional Semifinal finish.
At the 4A level, Davenport and Navarro headline the conversation after finishing in a three-way tie atop 26-4A with Wimberley, each posting 8-2 district records.
Additional programs to keep an eye on include Brandeis, Pleasanton, Johnson, O’Connor, Smithson Valley, and Steele.
As the postseason is officially underway, here’s a closer look at the top contenders from the San Antonio area poised to make noise in the weeks ahead.

The No. 1-ranked Grapevine Mustangs enter the postseason aiming for a second-straight UIL Championship
With May just around the corner, it’s officially playoff time in Texas high school baseball.
District races have wrapped, divisions are set, and the road to Dell Diamond is beginning to take shape.
Out of the Dallas-Fort Worth area, defending UIL-5A state champion Grapevine reclaims the No. 1 spot in our rankings with a stellar 25-2 record entering the postseason.
Close behind are the Boswell Pioneers (27-4), fresh off a District 3-6A title and ready to make noise in the Division II bracket.
Southlake Carroll (24-7-1) edged out rival Keller (25-7) for the District 4-6A crown, though both teams will now chase separate paths in the playoffs.
FM Marcus, Rockwall, and Sachse should also be in the thick of the 6A race, while Aledo and Lovejoy look like top contenders in 5A. Brock, meanwhile, has emerged as a serious force in Class 4A.
Now that the postseason is upon us, it's time to take one last look at the DFW hierarchy before the action officially begins.
