24 -- SHADOW CREEK SHARKS
Under the direction of coach LaToya Micheaux, Shadow Creek achieved an impressive record of 23-13 (9-3 in district) a year ago, which was highlighted by a postseason that saw them advance to the Regional Quarterfinals.
While they were defeated by eventual State Semifinalist Summer Creek in the third round, and their top scorer Krislyn Biscette graduated, there is still plenty of cause for optimism heading into the new year.
In terms of returning talent, junior Da’Niyah Lewis (9.8 ppg, 2.6 apg, 1.7 spg) and senior Zoe Senganya (5.9 ppg, 1.2 spg) will lead the pack, while Gianna Gentry (Sr. G), Preston Young (Sr. C) and Aliyah Woodward (So. G) take on bigger roles.
Defense has been a strong-suit for the Sharks over the past few seasons, and it will be critical for them to execute when facing district counterparts Pearland and Manvel this winter.
