The Panthers return to the diamond after securing their third consecutive district championship within Fort Bend ISD, followed by a two-round playoff run. While their postseason ended earlier than expected last year, the Panthers will likely be motivated to improve on that result in 2025.
Coach Mike Dutka enters his second season at the helm of a program with a strong tradition of success, including a State Tournament appearance in 2021.
A key returning player is senior pitcher Jack McKernan (Texas commit), who is coming off a dominant first team, all-district performance. In addition to McKernan, the Panthers will rely on senior Mason Murphy (Sam Houston State), a second-team all-district selection, as another trusted arm in the bullpen.
Seniors Hayden Willey (DBU) and Jack Ward add plenty of leadership and will continue to contribute both offensively and defensively. Junior IF/RHP Logan Shields is another player to watch, as he is expected to make an impact in multiple areas.

The Kinkaid Falcons dominated the private school landscape in 2025.
Like, dominated.
The Falcons won the Southwest Preparatory Conference and beat several big-time public schools on the way.
Coach Stacey Marshall had a team loaded with stars, but Ma'Ryiah Alfred really stood above the rest. She is VYPE's Private School Player of the Year.

SBS' Reese Alston is VYPE's Private School Player of the Year
The Second Baptist School and St. Francis Episcopal captured their respective TAPPS State Titles this winter, hitting huge shots at the right time.
Reese Alston of Second Baptist was our VYPE Private School Player of the Year, leading the Eagles all season. The point guard is just a sophomore and has plenty more upside, which is scary to opponents.
Sebastian Williams-Adams is the city's top private school senior recruit, signing with No. 1 Auburn, while Nigel Walls is headed to SMU.
Here are the ALL-VYPE Teams for 2025.
