The Cypress Ranch Mustangs
15 — CYPRESS RANCH MUSTANGS
The time is now for Cypress Ranch.
After going 23–13 overalland 11–3 in district play a year ago, the Mustangs’ season ended earlier than expected with a tough second-round loss to Aldine.
But this year, coach Mason Huffmeister has a group built to make noise across CFISD and beyond.
Leading the way are the Goodwin brothers — Josh and KJ. Josh, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard with Division I offers, is smooth and skilled on the perimeter. KJ, also 6-foot-5, brings power and versatility in the paint. The duo complements each other perfectly, giving Cy Ranch a one-two punch few teams can match.
At the point, Chase Wilson provides steady leadership and control, while Jonathan Matsliah anchors the interior on defense.
Adding to the mix are football standouts Armani Edwards (OL), Joelle Arnett (WR), and Jacob Lee, whose physicality and toughness translate seamlessly to the court.
With athleticism, balance, and a hunger to prove themselves, the Mustangs could be one of the breakout stories in CFISD this season.
