The Glenn Lady Grizzlies notched quality wins last week against playoff-bound Hays and 11th-ranked Cedar Park to maintain their top spot in this week’s Girls Power Rankings. The second-through-sixth-ranked teams all held serve as well.
In fact, there wasn’t much movement overall, except for games involving District 26-6A teams. Then-8th-ranked Westlake completed their season sweep of #10 Lake Travis in the Girls Basketball version of the Battle of the Lakes, while then-#9 Bowie knocked off then-#14 Austin High. Both the Lady Chaps and Lady Dawgs stepped over Bastrop, which paired a win over Crockett with a loss vs. then-#15 Anderson. As a result, the Lady Trojans flip-flopped with the Lady Maroons, who still remain in the Rankings.
With just one more regular season game, plus a possible smattering of play-in and seeding games remaining for the UIL Girls, we’ll have just one final Power Rankings for you next week. (Is it just me or has this whole new Division 1/Division 2 split taken most of the fun and drama out of the district races?)
Here’s how things stand heading into the final week of the regular season.
