After a few seasons of rebuilding their team, the Forney Lady Jackrabbits are continuing to work toward greatness this season. As they prepare to take on the rest of their district schedule, VYPE DFW takes a look at the team:
Rewind
Last season, the team posted a 16-19 overall record (6-6 in district play) as they finished fourth in their district standings. Securing victories over the likes of South Garland, Garland Naaman Forest, Lakeview Centennial, Ferris, Dallas Madison, Mineola, Enis, Corsicana, Farmersville, Lancaster, and others, the team clinched a playoff appearance. Despite their best effort, though, the team fell 45-28 in a battle against McKinney North.
This Season So Far
Led by Rylee New, Demi Okubote, Madison Triolet, Janiah Wright, Ngone Diop, Sydney Davis, Reyn Redmond, and other talented athletes, the team has already secured several impressive victories including those over Mesquite Poteet, Greenville, South Garland, Terrell, and others. Looking to continue advancing with strong moments against their district opponents as the season goes on.
Following the new year, the team returns to district play with a matchup against Ennis on January 5th. Be sure you catch this team in action as they look to clinch another entrance into the playoffs.
