With true resiliency, the Lady Wolverines were able to bounce back into their regular dominant style of play. While losing only one game the entire season, Frisco Wakeland recorded an 89% winning percentage. The team posted incredible wins against the likes of Frisco Lone Star, El Paso Eastlake, Frisco Memorial, Frisco Reedy, and more en route to playoffs.
So far in playoffs, the Lady Wolverines have put a stop to Wylie East, Creekview, W.T. White, Midlothian, and Highland Park while allowing only one goal against them. Led by strong athletes like Sophia Pehr, Cori Cochran, Riley Pettigrew, and more the Lady Wolverines have been able to play hard against all of their opponents this season. In the goal, Drew Stover has been a force to be reckoned with.
Fans can expect fast play against Magnolia (24-1-2) during semifinal play. Although Magnolia is a team that has no problem starting strong, Wakeland is on a mission this year. Magnolia can be expected to set the tone early, but Wakeland won't have trouble picking up the pace and meeting them where they're at. The Lady Wolverines can be expected to match the tone set and raise the bar quickly without slowing down in order to make it to the state title game.
The game is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 14th at Birkelbach Field in Georgetown, Texas.
