A Look Back
The Lions posted an incredible start to their season with victories Lindale, Crandall, Sulphur Springs, and more. Before really getting to the meat and potatoes of their district schedule, Kaufman was on a hot seven game win-streak. Despite a strong start to the season, the Lions lost three straight to Paris, Argyle, and Melissa at the end of district play.
However, the team still entered playoffs on a high note with a 24-0 shutout victory over Dallas Carter before falling in a 14-10 battle to Waco La Vega.
Looking Ahead
Kaufman has a few strong players returning including Braxton Garmon, Jordan Nalls, Isaac Leija, Will Bowers, and Kylevon Morrow. As the team regroups they are looking at another strong start to the season- facing off against many of the same pre-season opponents as they did last season.
The Lions open their season against Lindale at home on August 26th.
What To Expect
Some rebuilding time. The ending of last season is sure to still be on their minds in the sense that their goal is to rise above it. Expect the team to use the summer workout period as time to get off on the right foot before opening preseason play. The team will be battle tested and depending on how they respond to their trials is how they will enter playoffs. Expect a playoff appearance from this squad!
