North Forney is one of the teams in the area that fans can't take their eyes off of. So far, the team has posted five consecutive victories while holding their opponents to a combined 91 points. VYPE DFW takes a look into the Falcons' program as they continue on into district play.
Non-District
North Forney came off of a 3-7 season last year (0-6) in district play and geared up to be better than ever. Focusing on the controllables within their program and learning to overcome challenges, the team stepped into this season amped up and ready to go.
The Falcons opened their season with a 55-33 victory over Whitehouse followed by a 42-14 victory over Garland Rowlett. As the team continued to dominate over their non-district opponents, they hosted North Mesquite and Dallas Wilson for two more North Forney non-district wins (34-14, 46-14).
What's Ahead
Opening district play last week, the Falcons traveled to Mesquite and recorded a statement 20-16 victory over Mesquite Horn. Last season, Horn defeated North Forney in a 35-25 battle. The Falcons went into Friday's game never ready to show any signs of giving up during difficult moments. Outlasting Horn's advances, North Forney saw big-time plays from the likes of Isaiah Mayfield and Tamaron Crochett who combined for a total of 246 passing yards. The team also had notable moments from Aamii Branch, Andikan Asuquo, Kasen McCoy, Jaquarian Robinson, and more.
Led by a determined group of athletes, the Falcons are headed into a second district game against a 2-2 Royse City in what will be Royse City's first district game of the season. Looking to continue their hot streak, the team can be expected to come out energetic with a passion to win. Their most difficult opponents will be seen in Rockwall (10/13), Tyler Legacy (10/27), and Rockwall-Heath (11/3).
North Forney fans can expect this squad to continue with their fire throughout district play as they hunt for an entrance to playoffs.
