Since their inaugural season in 2019, extensive playoff runs have become a staple for Lake Creek. Last spring, the Lions reached the Region III Final for the third consecutive year in Class 5A, further solidifying their reputation as one of Houston’s premier programs.
However, the Lions’ sights are set on more than just a deep postseason—they’re aiming for a championship. Though several key players from last year’s squad have graduated, a strong core returns to help coach Jeremy Schramm’s team reach that goal.
First-team, all-district honorees Wyatt Davis (Sr. SS) and Davis Lee (Sr. OF/DH) bring the veteran leadership needed for a potent lineup. They’ll be joined by junior outfielders Jackson Marshall and Reed Newkirk, both of whom earned second-team honors in 2024. On the mound, Lake Creek has three capable pitchers to anchor the staff: junior Harper Heathcott (second-team), as well as seniors Zachery Alarid (San Jacinto CC-commit) and Jaxson Thompson (East Texas Baptist).
While the Lions will still face the same tough competition after moving over to 17-5A, especially from A&M Consolidated, their aspirations are higher than ever.
