Consistency at the plate, the use of speed on the roster and solid defensive play behind the pitcher are three things Clear Springs coach Jennifer Knight believes will propel her team to a deep playoff run.
The Chargers went 22-11 a year ago and reached the Area Round of the playoffs. SIx starters return off that team for 2025 including first-team, all-district picks Erianna Garcia at catcher and Eryn Polite at third base. Garcia is committed to Abilene Christian University, while Polite is committed to Florida A&M.
Other players to watch include San Jacinto College-commit Jenna Hashaw (second-team, all-district pitcher), Grace Hirst (Lamar State College-Port Arthur), Alana Strever, Emily Strever and incoming freshman Makenzie Thomas.
Knight, who enters her 16th at Clear Springs will preach the motto “Earned Not Given” this year to her Chargers as they try and make a playoff run.
