The Woodlands hosted Lamar Friday October 2nd at 7 PM at the Woodforest Bank Stadium. It was Senior night for the Highlanders, in which every Senior who participated in the game including the football players, cheerleaders, high steppers, band, and color guard wore a sash during their appearances on the field. The Highlanders came out on top 40-14 over the Texans.
Ben Ferguson was named player of the game with 6 receptions for 76 yards. Conner Dechiro threw for 113 yards, inlcuding a 42 yard pass to Ted Knox. Senior Jack Calhoun led the team in rushing with 45 yards including a long of 32 yards. The Woodlands also had a 96 yard interception returned for a touchdown by Senior Pablo Amaya. The Highlanders don't have a game scheduled for next week but are currently looking for an opponent. Their next scheduled game is another home game against Fort Bend Hightower on Friday October 16 . The Highlanders are currently ranked 203rd in the state and 82nd in Class 6A.
