PREP ROUNDUP: West Point dominates Lawrence County 42-14; Fairview outlasts St. John Paul II; Cold Springs, Good Hope also pick up wins

West Point's first Class 5A, Region 7 victory was an emphatic one.
After three weeks on the road to the open the season, the Warriors gave the home crowd plenty to celebrate on Friday night, rolling to a 42-14 triumph over Lawrence County.
West Point (2-2, 1-1 in Region 7) scored the game's first 20 points in the first half, and the Warriors never let Lawrence County mount a threat.
"Our defense stepped up and played well after a couple of rough weeks. Our guys keep showing up and working hard. We're trying to get better every week," said West Point coach Don Farley. "It felt good to be at home. It was a good win."
Warriors' quarterback Will Cochran continued his strong season with four total touchdowns – a pair on the ground and through the air. Cochran opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown less than a minute into the game and added a 53-yard touchdown pass to Branson Smith with 4:25 to go in the first quarter.
