Tee'd up for success: Byron Nelson freshman golfer Aaron Cummins

Byron Nelson Bobcats golf has a young athlete who is shining bright for the program this season. Freshman star Aaron Cummins has been working the links to his advantage as he continues to excel in his first high school golf season.

With hard work and dedication to the game, Cummins entered the season with strong starts showing the team as well as the competition that the Bobcats have a star on their hands. In December, the team gave Cummins a shout-out as he helped lead the team to a third-place finish at Tangle Ridge:


Through January and February, Cummins continued to show talent as he sharpened his skill and played incredible rounds for the Bobcats including at the Region 1-6A Preview:


Cummins continued to soar as he helped lead the team to a fifth-place overall finish at the Denton Regional Invitational later in February before posting a fifth-place solo finish at the Trophy Club Country Club just days later. Moving on to the District Tournament, Cummins posted a 72-72. Cummins also went on to finish 6th in the 4-6A District Championship to qualify for the Region 1-6A Golf Tournament while also being named to the District 4-6A 2nd Team All-District Team.
