Frisco Lone Star vs. Frisco Heritage - Friday, September 10 at 7 p.m.
Frisco Lone Star is headed into week three after a tough loss in week 2 against reigning State Champions Aledo. On top of a heartbreaking loss, the Rangers will have to face off against Frisco Heritage without star quarterback Garret Rangel who went down late in the game with a left leg injury during what could have been a come-back win for Lone Star. Fans will see Gabriel Barrientes step in and show off some of his secret weapons- last week he completed 6 of 7 passes against a strong Aledo defense.
Heritage is entering week 3 with a 2-0 start to the season. With a couple of wins against W.T. White (63-22) and Saginaw (62-21), Frisco Lone Star might just be the first big test for Heritage. Quarterback Easton Swetnam threw for over 330 yards with five touchdowns just last week and will be a force to be reckoned with for Lone Star's defense. Fans can expect a really close, physical game.
▲ Southlake Carroll vs. Prosper Neena Sidhu, Prosper High School (@_neenasidhu)
Southlake Carroll vs. Prosper - Friday, September 10 at 7 p.m.
Prosper quarterback Harrison Rosar has yet to face a defense quite like Southlake Carroll. As a young quarterback going up against a powerhouse so early in the season, this will be a fight right out of the gate for Prosper. Prosper has a 2-0 start this season over the likes of South Grand Prairie and Lake Ridge. Fans are going to see Malik Dailey and Hudson Hawkins have big games against a strong Southlake Carroll squad. Prosper's defense is going to have to really step up in order to put a stop to Southlake Carroll.
Southlake Carroll is on a hot 2-0 start while young quarterback Kaden Anderson has more than proved that he has what it takes to take Southlake Carroll all the way this season. Filling pretty big cleats, Anderson has completed 62% of his passes in two games with 615 passing yards and five touchdowns. Landon Samson has also continued to show his worth on the Dragon's offense with 13 catches for four touchdowns on 280 yards. Fans should expect to see Southlake Carroll looking as poised as ever in an attempt to make up for a rocky almost-loss against Rockwall-Heath in week 2.
▲ Denton Ryan vs. Frisco Reedy Reedy High School Football Twitter (@rhs_fbrecruits)
Denton Ryan vs. Frisco Reedy - Friday, September 10 at 7 p.m.
Frisco Reedy will face off against Denton Ryan on Friday hoping to bounce back from a 43-30 loss against Frisco where quarterback A.J. Padgett threw three touchdowns on 257 yards. Padgett also scored one rushing touchdown while Kaleb Smith carried the ball 106 yards for two touchdowns and Josh Goines caried the ball for one touchdown. However, facing off against an angry Denton Ryan may find the Lions having a rough game.
Last week, Denton Ryan faced off against in-town rival Denton Guyer where the Raiders lost 14-7. Ryan's only score from an Austin Jordan receiving touchdown. Khalon Davis didn't have the game he wanted throwing for only 89 yards and Kalib Hicks rushed for 119 yards, but couldn't come up with any big moments for the Raiders. After such a big loss, fans can expect to see Davis, Hicks, and company come ready to make waves in week 3.
▲ Rockwall vs. Austin Lake Travis Rockwall ISD Sports (@RISDAthletics)
Rockwall vs. Austin Lake Travis - Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Rockwall has posted a couple of good wins already this season. With a big 42-29 win over Cedar Hill in week 1 and 75-28 win over Dallas Jesuit in week 2, it's safe to say that the Yellowjackets are on a buzz. While proving that Jacket Fight Never Dies, Rockwall can be expected to have a big game against Texas High School Football powerhouse Lake Travis. Quarterback Braedyn Locke, a Mississippi State commit, has been on his mark so far this season and should continue his trend of having great games. Last week, Locke threw for over 400 yards with five touchdowns and no interceptions. Noble Johnson is another player to watch for after a spectacular game against Jesuit last week where he tallied eight catches for 192 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Led by quarterback Bo Edmundson, Lake Travis is coming off of a dominating win against Judson where they forced four turnovers. Lake Travis has a consistent offense that does what it take to roll over their opponents - even the tougher ones. Fans can expect to see a strong start-to-finish for the Cavs, but just as strong of heart and fight from Rockwall. Expect a close game between these two teams on Friday night!
▲ Allen vs. Cedar Hill Allen Eagle Football Twitter (@alleneaglesfb)
Allen vs. Cedar Hill - Friday, September 10 at 7:30 p.m.
Allen enters Friday's game with a chip on their shoulder after a near 20-point loss to Humble Atascocita last week. Not only was it a 41-20 loss, but it was the Eagles' first loss in their stadium as well as an 84-game regular-season win streak for Allen. Eagle fans can expect quarterback Mike Hawkins to come out ready to play better than last week. On top of that, Jordyn Tyson should post a much better game against Cedar Hill. For Allen to get back to typical Allen football behavior, we're going to have to see a big game from their defense.
Cedar Hill is coming in with a 1-1 start just like Allen, but possibly has a more poised defense. Cedar Hill is going to have to use their defense to be a force in the game against Allen as well as a support for the offense. Last week, Cedric Harden Jr. threw for 103 yards with one touchdown while he rushed for just under 100 yards for another touchdown. A key player to watch in this matchup will be Jaylen Jenkins who had two touchdowns last week. You can expect to see Cedar Hill fight hard to try to continue a trend that Atascocita started: taking down Allen.
