Before school started two years ago, Montgomery ISD opened Lake Creek and Montgomery High School students had to make a decision -- to stay or not to stay.
Lake Creek would be young -- real young. Current sophomores, freshman along with incoming freshman would take the varsity field.
Dayeton Sweeting decided to go to the new school - to set a new standard, make history and open the window to new opportunities.
The 6-foot-2 tight end is a versatile athlete, who can play anywhere on the field.
When asked, Sweeting stated that his best athletic quality is that he has the mindset of being able to do anything on the field. His favorite motto? "Winning isn't everything, it is the only thing." Because he is very competitive, strong-willed and gives 110-percent effort day in and day out, he strives for greatness on the daily.
His opinion on the current football season is that "we have grown a lot which has caused our maturity level to sky-rocket." He hopes this year will teach the team mental toughness and to improve everyday.
He recently suffered a collar bone injury and will be out for the season. The injury has taught him to never take anything for granted. On the sideline, he is seeing the game from a completely new view point.
