Hoops for days: McKinney North girls basketball continues to dominate the court
With a handful of really great seasons under their belts, the McKinney North Lady Bulldogs are looking to continue to dominate the court through the 2021-22 season. The Lady Bulldogs are strong on the court both offensively and defensively and look ahead to the rest of a season that they've already paved out to be a good one. VYPEDFW takes a deep dive into McKinney North's season so far and what fans can expect from them through the rest of the season:
Last season, the Lady Bulldogs posted a 76% winning percentage and a 12-2 district record as they finished second in their district. The Lady Bulldogs defeated the likes of Little Elm, Wylie, Melissa, Sherman, Denison, Lovejoy, Prosper Rock Hill, and more en route to the playoffs. Unfortunately, Frisco Liberty was able to end McKinney North's playoff run in the first week of the playoffs. With another taste of the playoffs, the Lady Bulldogs are looking to make it there again this season.
So far this season, McKinney North has posted a 95% winning percentage with a 18-1 overall schedule. The team has recorded huge wins against the likes of Prosper Rock Hill, Sherman, John Paul II, Celina, and more. They have also started their district schedule undefeated with a 3-0 record. Led by sophomores Ciara Harris and Kaelyn Hamilton as well as senior Jayden Smallwood, the team can be expected to have an amazing rest of their district season as well as a strong playoff push. Harris currently averages 15.8 points per game while Hamilton averages 13.9 and Smallwood averages 7.9.
