HOUSTON - Another night and another big performance by LJ Cryer.
The Baylor-signee has been putting up monster numbers all season, and really his entire career, and if you put enough of those nights together they begin to add up.
On Tuesday, Cryer scored 32 points, going 14 of 19 from the field and 3 of 7 from three-point range, for the Mavericks, which sent him over the 3,000-point mark for his illustrious high school career.
"It's a great achievement because I worked really hard for this," Cryer told VYPE. "But, I'm more focused on helping my team win games."
Morton Ranch has been doing just that as the Mavericks improved to 14-8 overall and 2-0 in District 19-6A play with the 72-53 win over Tompkins on Tuesday night.
Reaching this kind of milestone, which most recently has been reached by the likes of Texas' Charli Collier (Barbers Hill) and Kentucky's Chasity Patterson (North Shore), is something Cryer said he will reflect on more after the season is finished.
"All glory to God," Cryer said about who he credits for this accomplishment. "I also credit my coaches and teammates for believing in me and trusting me with the ball in my hands."
Clipped the Wings. Mavericks 72 Falcons 53. Good team win! Congrats @Lj_cryer3 on that 3000 🙌🏾 https://t.co/0YvGCE7qQtpic.twitter.com/LpuicWZ6St
