Northwest Lady Texans showcase strength and determination
Northwest volleyball is back on the court this fall and showing all of their fans exactly what they are made of. The Lady Texans have been working hard all summer and into their preseason play in order to enter district play strong. VYPE DFW takes a deeper look at the team and what fans can expect going forward!
A Look Back
Last season the Lady Texans finished second in their district with a 11-3 district record (27-12 overall). The team played hard against their opponents and outscored them in set victories by 38 sets on the season. Showcasing some of their talent against big teams in the Dallas-Fort Worth area with victories over the likes of Mansfield, Aledo, Frisco Reedy, Birdville, Grapevine, Denton, and more, the Lady Texans knew they would be a tough competitor in playoffs. Giving it everything they had, Northwest went three rounds deep in playoffs before eventually losing to Grapevine.
Looking Ahead
With a fire in their heart this season and a desire to continue to be successful, the Lady Texans have started off preseason play with an 11-9 overall record. The team has defeated many strong opponents including Birdville, Coppell, and Argyle. This past week, the Lady Texans defeated Keller Central, Del Valle, Klein Collins, V.R. Eaton, and Katy Tompkins to claim the championship spot in a preseason tournament.
