No. 3 Second Baptist School to continue winning ways
No. 3 Second Baptist School Eagles
Second Baptist School has been one of the most consistent private school girls basketball programs in the city.
Year after year they are in the TAPPS Final Four and playing for the top prize. Last year, the Eagles fell short in the TAPPS 5A State Championship to Liberty Christian-Argyle to finish as the State Runner-Up.
Coach John Herndon returns two starters as he enters year six of leading the program (126-42). Olivia Savageau is back to run the point for the Eagles after averaging 13 points per game. Riley Tackett also returns and will take on more of a scoring role.
The Eagles will be rebuilding in 2024, but with one of the better point guards in the city at the helm, makes them still dangerous.
