VYPE's preseason No. 1 Lake Creek ran into a buzzsaw last week, falling to Class 6A Magnolia 59-33 in their opener.

The Lions will likely be back, but say hello to the Randle Lions. Ever heard of them? Maybe not, but coach Brian Randle is building a power in the Richmond area. The Lions are balanced and have a star in Landen Williams-Callis on offense.
Ever heard of Iowa Colony? Maybe not, but the newest Alvin ISD school moved up from Class 4A to 5A a year ago and the Pioneers will be the next big thing on the south side of Houston.
Jonah Williams is a bona fide star and has verbally to Texas. He scored five times for Galveston Ball against Manvel in Week 1.
FB Marshall snuck by Friendswood to stay in the Top 5.
Texas City, Barbers Hill and Angleton are somewhat interchangeable and it will be fun to see who emerges from that trio.
