PERENNIAL FAVORITES: Katy ISD should still be dominated by No. 4 Seven Lakes
4 -- SEVEN LAKES SPARTANS
The Spartans are coming off yet another impressive effort, having gone 36-3 in the past year and advancing to the Regional Semifinals following an undefeated District 19-6A championship.
Under the leadership of coach Shannon Heston (228-115 in his career), Seven Lakes will aim to uphold the standard of excellence audiences have come to expect.
While they say goodbye to A.J. Bates (LA Tech) and Nasir Price (transferred to Link Academy), there are still a handful of weapons remaining to accomplish their goals.
Isaiah Santos (So. SF) was named the 19-6A Newcomer of the Year for his notable contributions (16 ppg, 8 rpg), and second-team selection Tillman Jaramillo (Sr. G/F) is always a dependable option on the floor.
Junior forward Sean Mwesigwa also returns and should play a bigger role after dealing with injuries during the majority of last season.
The motto this year for SLHS will be “#FINISH”, according to Heston, as they prepare to leave no loose ends by the final buzzer.
