RETAINING POWER: No. 21 Klein Collins aims to remain district incumbents
The Tigers are fresh off a 26-win season in which they dominated the regular season to the tune of an undefeated (14-0) district championship prior to making an appearance in the 2022-23 UIL postseason.
Klein Collins is looking to build off that this year. Two starters return, led by St. Mary’s University-commit Christin Callens. The shooting guard was the District 15-6A MVP last year after averaging 14.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.4 assists, two steals and one block per game.
Six-foot junior shooting guard Ashlynn Hollis is also back. The first-team, all-district pick averaged 10.9 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.6 steals per game for the Tigers last year.
A new face to take note of is freshman A’Niyah Harmon.
Keys to success for Tatiana Lee’s (6th year, 123-60) team include “communicating, selflessness, defensive intensity and energy.” The Tigers’ motto this season is W.I.T. –Whatever It Takes.
