Hunting for Excellence: Southlake Carroll Lady Dragon Soccer

After dropping only one game last season, the Lady Dragons are back in action and ready to get the job done this season. As Southlake Carroll gets on track to secure a strong season on the pitch, VYPE DFW takes a look at the squad and what's ahead:

Rewind

Last season, the Lady Dragons dominated on the field as they posted victory after victory from the start of the season. Outscoring their opponents 171-8 in the regular season, the team posted incredible victories over Coronado, Dripping Springs, Brandeis, Lake Travis, Keller, Byron Nelson, and more en route to the playoffs. Through the playoffs, the team sent home Weatherford (10-0), San Angelo Central (4-0), Permian (2-0), and McKinney Boyd (3-1), before falling to Flower Mound Marcus (1-0). Ourscoring their oppoents by a total of 180 goals on the season, the Lady Dragons had everything to be proud of as they entered their offseason preparations.

This Season So Far

Opening their season with a 10-0 shut-out victory over Cleburne followed by a 6-0 shut-out victory over Aledo, the team has made their presence known again. Recording several impressive victories through non-district play (like a 10-1 victory over Burleson, a 14-0 victory over Weiss, and more) the team has started their season with a 7-0 overall record-- six of those victories being shut-outs.

As the team prepares for their upcoming district schedule, fans can expect this fast-paced offense to continue strong against their opponents. Geared up for greatness, this team is impressive and won't slow down as they pave their path toward the playoffs again this season. Opening district play against Timber Creek on Wednesday, the Lady Dragons are looking ahead toward another dominant year. Be sure you catch this squad in action!
