No. 5 — RANDLE LIONS
The 2023-24 season was one for the history books for Randle.
In just its second year of playing varsity basketball, the Lady Lions roared their way to the Class 5A State Tournament in San Antonio under the guidance of Christy Westbrooks.
The Lady Lions went 30-9 and rolled through the likes of Crosby, Foster, Pflugerville Hendrickson and Barbers Hill to get to the Alamodome.
District 20-5A MVP Alaysia Cook is back to lead the offensive charge. Cook averaged a team-leading 14.3 points per game. She also racked up 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 steals and 3.8 assists per game, and received an All-State and All-Region selection. She was named to the THSCA Class 4A Super Elite Team as well.
Junior Kurynn McNeill was a second-team, all-district pick as a 5-foot-7 combo guard for the Lady Lions. McNeill averaged 9.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and four steals per game in her sophomore campaign. Finally, Gabby Ellis, who was a district honorable mention, rounds out the returners for the Lady Lions.
