The Crockett Cougars hosted district rivals LASA (Liberal Arts & Science Academy) this past Thursday night at House Park.
The district 12-5A clash saw the Cougars earn their first district victory of the year to the tune of 56-0 scoreline, while the Raptors suffered their first overall defeat of the season.
Crockett's star senior QB Cam Dickey (Texas Tech-commit) ran for five touchdowns and added another through the air. Meanwhile a stout Cougars defense -- headlined by Caleb Dickey (Jr. DE), Anthony Saucedo (Sr. DB), and senior Byron Porter, among others -- held LASA scoreless, which amounts to the team's second shutout this year.
Crockett (2-3 overall, 1-1 in district) will look to ride their momentum into the heart of the district season, hosting Navarro next Friday (10/6).
LASA (4-1 overall, 1-1 in district), in its 4th year as a football program, will face district powerhouse LBJ on Friday.
