Lamar Consolidated hosted Manvel in front of a sizable crowd Tuesday night.
No. 23 Khalil Wells got Lamar Consolidated on the board first with a layup. He was fouled in the act of shooting and successfully hit the free throw shot to tally the first points of the game. Manvel and Lamar Consolidated then began to trade baskets. By halftime, Manvel was leading 28-21.
The Mavericks stayed on top for the third quarter and continued to stretch their lead over the Mustangs. Manvel ultimately won the game with a final score of 77-54. Top scorers for Manvel included Mason McBride (15 pts) and Shaun Walker (14pts).
Manvel's win over Lamar Consolidated was their fourth-straight this season. Lamar Consolidated was comparatively served their fourth-straight loss. The Mustangs look to end their losing streak this Friday, as they travel to Angleton. Manvel will also play on Friday and will host Foster High School.
