THE BEARS ARE COMING OFF A SOLID 2023 CAMPAIGN.
Bridgeland racked up 30 wins a year ago and reached the Regional Quarterfinals before being knocked out by the eventual Class 6A State Champion Grand Oaks.
Two starters return off that team including Florida International University-commit Beka Pfefferkorn, who was first-team, all-district. Pfefferkorn finished with 232 kills and 69 blocks. Second-teamer Grace Wegenke racked up 579 assists and 237 digs for the Bears in 2023.
Other players to watch include Emily Greer and Brooklyn Barrow, who are both middle blockers for the Bears. Keys to success for Verena Khalil’s squad include exceptional serve-receive passing, great defense and a fast offense that attacks from all parts of the net.
