VYPE Coaches Corner: The Kinkaid School Lacrosse Coach Michael Centra
As lacrosse continues to grow as a recognized sport in the state of Texas, no program has experienced more success in recent memory, than that of The Kinkaid School.
The Falcons went on to become back-to-back THSLL state champions this Spring, with their 10-5 victory over Austin Vandegrift.
They were propelled by the talents of Colton Silverstein, Preston Shields, and Daniel Patterson, among others, and were recognized as All-SPC honorees prior to achieving this feat.
VYPE's Matt Malatesta caught up with Kinkaid's head coach Michael Centra, detailing their second-straight state title, and more.

THE MARSHALL PLAN: No. 4 Kinkaid has family feel
No. 4 Kinkaid Falcons
The Falcons are coming off a 20-9 campaign in 2022-2023, which was good enough for a fifth-place finish in the SPC Tournament.
The Falcons are looking to make some noise this year as Stacey Marshall enters her 20th season of leading the program. Marshall enters this season with 447 career coaching victories.
TABC Private School All-State selection Madison Marshall, who averaged 16.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.5 steals per game, returns as one of the big pieces for the Falcons. Lyllian Walton was an All-South Zone selection and Onyi Ndee is another one to watch. Ndee is verbally committed to play volleyball at Case Western.
Other names to remember include Micayah Robinson and an impressive incoming freshman class – Diara Gibbs, Gordon, Kamdyn Flora, Lauren Hull, Sydney Marshall and Tori Walton. With seven returning varsity players and the six freshmen, Marshall believes they will have “incredible depth, size and speed.”
The Kinkaid motto this year is SOS. No, not a distress signal but rather Squad Over Self.
