Following an undefeated (14-0) district championship in 2024, the Chargers were unexpectedly eliminated in the Area Round by Port Neches-Groves in Game 3.
This season, they are determined to bounce back as they move up to District 20-6A, where they’ll face new challenges from teams like the Alief schools, along with familiar opponents such as Foster and George Ranch.
The Chargers return plenty of talent, led by senior pitcher and infielder Ty Powell, the 2024 District 20-5A MVP. Committed to Texas State, Powell was a dual-threat last season, posting a 7-1 record on the mound and hitting .354 at the plate.
Alongside Powell, Fulshear boasts an experienced roster, including first-team all-district selections: Mark Macklin (Jr. OF), Logan Hudson (Sr. 3B), and Mason Schultz (Sr. 2B), who is committed to McMurry University. Senior left-hander Guy Arroyos (first-team) will strengthen the bullpen, while Riley Chamberlain (Sr. SS), Jake McIntire (Sr. 1B), and Hunter Nedd (Sr. OF) provide additional leadership.
A rising star, sophomore Dominic “Trey” Giametta (So. P/DH) – the District Newcomer of the Year and an Alabama-commit – adds even more versatility and intrigue to the squad. Suffice it to say, Fulshear is loaded and should make an impactful introduction to the Class 6A scene.
