As folks fired up the grills and enjoyed the outdoors for Father's Day weekend, a handful of El Paso Miners Futbol Club families hit the road and headed out across Texas to represent the Sun City at the 2019 US Youth Soccer Southern Presidents Cup.
The impressive soccer club has been quietly racking up the wins over the last couple of months.
Miners FC have been putting in long hours and that dedication has paid off, as they have gone undefeated in every game in their age bracket (age 13 and under) this season.
In order to compete at the USYS Presidents Cup this past weekend, they first had to battle it out with other Texas teams.
Under the leadership of head coach David Floriano, Miners FC first tasted victory in two city championships, went on to win the 'Copa Internacional FC Dallas' and then became USYS state champions, winning the South Texas State Cup, beating Texas teams from Spring, San Antonio, Houston and Austin.
