LISTEN NOW - 6A Bi-district: Fort Bend ISD: Ridge Point Panthers vs. Tompkin Falcons
6:45 p.m. Pregame, 7:00 First Serve, Merrell Center
The Ridge Point Lady Panthers begin what they hope will be a second consecutive journey to the championship final of the UIL state volleyball playoffs on Tuesday. They face the Tompkins Falcons at 6:45PM from Katy ISD's Merrell Center, and you can hear the game live on vypefortbend.com. Ridge Point (41-4 and ranked 12th in Texas by MaxPreps) is District 20-6A's top seed after steamrolling their district rivals under first-year Head Coach Lauryn Bailey.
Seniors Claire Jeter (339) and Under Armor All-American nominee Reagan Rutherford (316) lead the Panthers in kills. They won a non-district playoff tuneup match Friday at 4th-ranked The Woodlands in five sets. Now, they begin the brutally competitive road through Region III-6A, which will likely put them on a collision course with Katy Seven Lakes and Pearland Dawson (40-4 and ranked #11 by MaxPreps in 2019).
Last year, Ridge Point beat those two toughies in the playoffs and advanced to the Class 6A championship match in Garland, where they lost to Flower Mound in four sets.
