It looked like Starkville was on its way to a rout early in the first quarter of its rivalry game against West Point. They jumped ahead to a 14-0 lead and seemed to be unstoppable.
Then, West Point showed the mettle of a program that won three straight state championships.
The Green Wave (2-1) responded to Starkville's hot start with 28 unanswered points and staved off a late comeback en route to an impressive 41-35 win over the Jackets (1-2).
Here are a few takeaways from West Point's win.
