In the top 5 of the VYPE DFW 1A-4A Preseason Football Rankings, Celina is more than ready to make their mark in the Dallas-Fort Worth area this season. Posting deep playoff runs in recent seasons, the Bobcats have what it takes to take it to the next level this fall.
REWIND
Over the most recent seasons, Celina football has really been leaving their mark in the North Texas area. Last season specifically, the team posted an incredible 11-2 overall record and an 85% winning percentage while making their way into the playoffs. Through non-district play, the team defeated Paris, Bishop Lynch, and Legacy School of Sports Sciences, but fell against a tough Anna squad.
Picking themselves back up, the Bobcats opened district play with an outstanding 56-0 shut-out victory over Ranchview followed by a 73-0 shut-out victory over North Dallas. The team went on to defeat the likes of Dallas Carter, Pinkston, Panther Creek, and more to finish at the top of their district with an undefeated 6-0 district record. In playoffs, Celina send Community (35-13) and Kennedale (34-28) packing before falling in a hard-fought 27-24 loss to Anna.
LOOKING AHEAD
With athletes like Bowe Bentley, Jamisen Driver, Cameron Edwards, Cooper St. Aubin, Graham Rylander, Collin McKiddy, Knox Porter, Cade Biagini, and more, the team can be expected to open the season in a dominant style of play. Ready to push further into playoffs this year, fans can expect the Bobcats to go full force into their schedule.
Celina opens their schedule on Friday, August 25 against Paris. The rest of their non-district schedule will feature Bishop Lynch, brand-new Prosper Walnut Grove, and Anna before opening district play against Ranchview in September.
