NO. 25 -- CLEAR CREEK WILDCATS
Head Coach: Scott Simonds
2023: 25-21/Area Finalists
CLEAR CREEK HAS BEEN A CONSISTENT FORCE IN HOUSTON FOR THE PAST TWO DECADES. The Wildcats have been in the playoffs each of the last 23 seasons and look to be back in the dance in 2024. Scott Simonds enters year No. 21 leading this crew with 574 career wins to his name.
The Wildcats bring back seven of the 11-player rotation, which equals a lot of experience. Three-year starters Olivia Jones (563 kill, 493 digs, 44 aces) and Alison Figueroa (685 digs, 44 aces) return on the outside and at libero for Clear Creek, respectively. Both were first-team, all-district picks.
Laila Paulino returns on the right side (211 kills, 72 blocks), while Camdyn Cole (343 assists, 162 digs) and Sofia Dhanji (267 digs, 13 aces) are also back. The Wildcats will be in a tough District 24-6A but have the firepower back to compete for a 13th district crown since 2001.
“We will have a couple of new players to the varsity who do have the potential to help us that I’m excited about as well,” Simonds said.
