TAPPS 7on7: Grace's Alex Quintero wins kicking competition

Tyler Grace Community's Alex Quintero won the TAPPS Kicking Competition on Friday in Waco.
Quintero was first place in both the field goal event and earned the all around title in competition at the Heart of Texas Facility.
Other winners were Josh Thatcher of Carrollton Prince of Peace (punting) and Paul Langemeier of Houston St. Thomas (kickoffs).
In the lineman challenge, Grace placed sixth. Fort Worth Nolan won with 71 points, followed by Austin Regents (69), Austin St. Michael's (49.5), Plano Prestonwood (47.5) and Plano John Paul II (43). The Cougars scored 28 points.

City View, Graham go unbeaten on first day of 7-on-7 state

COLLEGE STATION – It was a successful Texas 7-on-7 Championships debut for City View on Thursday at the Veterans Park and Athletic Complex.
The Mustangs went 3-0 on the first day of the Division III Tournament, taking down Ballinger 47-40 before a lengthy weather delay. Once the storms went away, they picked up where they left off by topping Sonora (47-19) and Poth (27-20) to win Pool C.
City View will face Eldorado at 8 a.m. Friday needing to win four games to advance to the Division III title game.
