A LOOK BACK: Frassati sets new standard with district title
Frassati Catholic volleyball had a break-out season, winning their district and reaching the Regional Finals.
The Falcons beat FBCA in the district playoffs and faced San Antonio Holy Cross for the opportunity to move on to State. Frassati fell short but have made huge strides as a program.
Aislynn Shore signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at Texas A&M University - Commerce, while Kathryn O'Brien committed to play volleyball for Franciscan University of Steubenville.

Two Frassati Catholic Athletes Sign to Play at the Collegiate Level
SPRING, Texas, (Feb. 5, 2020) – On National Signing Day 2020, Wednesday, February 4, two Frassati Catholic student athletes signed to continue playing sports at the collegiate level. Kathryn O'Brien, a senior volleyball player, signed to play at Franciscan University of Steubenville, and Jerel Resurreccion, a senior football player, signed to play at Trinity International University. O'Brien and Resurreccion join Aislynn Shore, a senior volleyball commit to Texas A&M University-Commerce, as the first three students from the class of 2020 to officially sign to play sports in college.
O'Brien was a key player on the Frassati Catholic district champion varsity volleyball team in 2016, earning First Team All-District and All-State Honorable Mention as a freshman. Her family moved to Midland her sophomore and junior years, where she made an impact for Midland Christian. Upon her return to Frassati Catholic in 2019 for her senior year, Kathryn again helped earn a district championship, achieved First Team All-District and All-State Honorable Mention, while also earning a spot on the TAPPS Academic All-State team.
Resurreccion played football for Frassati Catholic for three years. As a junior in 2018, he had a standout year, achieving All-District Honorable Mention for TAPPS Division 3, District 4. He contributed to Frassati Catholic's first ever varsity football win, earned the varsity football Falcon Award as a junior, and was honored with the Marty Burlsworth Character Award in 2019. Although sidelined with an injury during much of his senior season, Jerel received numerous academic and athletic scholarships offers before committing to Trinity International University.
The Frassati Catholic community commends Resurreccion, O'Brien, and Shore for their contributions to Falcons athletics, and their strong representation of the values of the Frassati Catholic community. The athletics department anticipates more student athletes from the class of 2020 to sign to play at the collegiate level throughout the spring.
