Catholic, St. Thomas More's instant-classic headlines Top 20 rankings

Week 5 of LHSAA football was highlighted by one of the best games of the decade.
In this instant classic, Catholic High (BR) hit a game winning 34-yard field goal to top St. Thomas More, 52-50. The two teams combined for 102 points and 1,184 yards of total offense. Catholic will play their fourth straight Top 20 opponent, East Ascension, next week as they continue to bolster their case for the top spot.
Speaking of the top spot, John Curtis continues to roll with a 61-14 victory over Lake Placid (FL). John Curtis' stacked Class 5A District 9 heats up with district play next week, with the Rummel Raiders taking on Brother Martin.
West Monroe and Rummel both stay undefeated with wins over Neville and Archbishop Shaw, respectively. In addition to star WR and LSU commit Koy Moore, Rummel's defense continues to impress, giving up only 6 points on the season.

Catholic, Rummel trending in Louisiana's Top 20

After a wild week of football, John Curtis and St. Thomas More sit atop the state's Top 20.
St. Thomas More had one of the most impressive nights, beating Neville 35-6. Rummel and Catholic (BR) both put on dominating performances against Ruston and Edna Karr, respectively.
Another high-riser this week was Brother Martin. shooting up to No. 8 after blowing out cross-town rival Jesuit. Class 2A Notre Dame proved they belong in the Top 20 after a strong win over 4A Teurlings Catholic.
East Ascension and Warren Easton both break the Top 20 this week after a tightly-contested shootout with East Ascension, 42-41.
With next week comes another exciting slate of games highlighted by St. Thomas More vs. Catholic and West Monroe vs. Neville. No. 1 John Curtis will also welcome Lake Placid HS (FL) to New Orleans for a heavy-weight bout.
