It comes as no surprise that the Celina Bobcats baseball team has found their way deep into the playoffs-- just one series victory away from punching their ticket to the UIL Baseball State Tournament. VYPE DFW takes a look at the team and what fans can expect as they prepare for their regional finals matchup against Liberty-Eylau.
So Far
Opening the season with demanding victories in non-district play, the team defeated the likes of Wall (9-7), Jasper (15-1), Randall (9-4), Stephenville (3-2), Sachse (6-1), Midlothian Heritage (8-2), and more as they got read to take on a slew of district opponents. With their skills sharpened and their focus constantly turned on, the team recorded an undefeated district record (12-0) while finishing first in their district standings. Shutting out seven of their district opponents, the team defeated Aubrey (6-0, 8-6), Van Alstyne (7-0, 11-0), Frisco Panther Creek (10-0), and more as they secured their playoff spot.
Athletes like Connor Rabe, Ethan Delgado, Jacob Henry, Spencer Coon, Major Brignon, Jose Mendez, Zack Henderson, and others have continued to help lead the charge through the playoffs as they defeated Wilmer-Hutchins (15-0, 17-0), Kennedale (2-1, 11-1), Godley (7-2, 11-0), and Pleasant Grove (3-1, 5-0) while allowing only five runs to be scored against them in the post-season; outscoring their opponents throughout the entire season by a combined 185 runs.

Fast on their feet, witty at the plate, and a defensive powerhouse, the Celina Bobcats can be expected to put up a strong fight against their regional finals opponent. Liberty-Eylau has a strong record (31-7-1, 14-2) with an 81% winning percentage and is sure to be a challenge for Celina, but the Bobcats have everything that it takes to shut down the Leopards and punch their ticket to the state tournament.

Dropping only two games during the regular season, the Celina Lady Bobcats are prepared to claw their way through the playoffs and secure a three-peat at the UIL State Championships. As the team gears up to take down anyone who stands in their way, VYPE DFW takes a look at what fans can expect moving forward:
Regular Season Play
Having been on a roll for several seasons, it comes as no surprise that the Celina Lady Bobcats have been able to boast a 19-2-2 overall record (13-0-1 in district play) this season. Despite opening their season with a loss to Ursuline Academy, the team has been able to showcase true resiliency as they powered through other non-district opponents like Jacksonville, Bullard, Stephenville, McKinney North, and others. Geared up for district play, the team showed no signs of faltering.
Once in district play, the team started out with a bang-- posting a 12-0 victory over Bonham. With the fire and expectation set, the Lady Bobcats went on to showcase many more powerful performances including a 4-0 victory over Aubrey, a 9-0 victory over Farmersville, a 15-0 victory over Pilot Point, and other strong wins. Lead by strong athletes like Kaitlyn Gustofson, Claire Flowers, Makenna Brantley, Brookelyn Babb, Lauren Howell, and others, this team has outscored their opponents by a resounding 121-6 goals combined as they head into the playoffs on a 12 game win-streak.
