TAKING FLIGHT: No. 11 Cy Falls primed to re-write last year's playoff result
11 -- CYPRESS FALLS EAGLES
The Eagles went 26-5 over the course of their most recent season, and in the process, locked in their third straight district championship.
Their early exit from the playoffs is not indicative of how effective the group can be once they start cooking.
Two starters return for 10th-year head coach Richard Flores, along with a healthy mix of underclassmen who look to play bigger roles.
Senior guard JaVori Washington should continue to be the catalyst for Cy Falls, alongside fellow seniors Hunter Mayers, Brevin Flores and Nash Beard (So. PG).
Coach Flores will be preaching unity and toughness to his guys in 2025, as they prepare to continue on their tradition of maintained excellence.

FLY, EAGLES, FLY: No. 6 Cypress Falls will be a powerhouse in 2024
Cypress Falls has a State Title under the direction of coach Richard Flores. He has the coaching chops and led his team to the Regional Semis last season, before falling to State Semifinalist Desoto.
Back in the fold for the district champions are Brayden Young (Loyola-Chicago) at center, Julian Greer, Daylon Porter and Derrick Baines.
This team is a matchup nightmare due to their team defense and length.
Cypress Falls will likely win district again, but will need a few shooters to emerge to hit those important threes to be a state favorite.
