1.Fort Bend Travis Tigers QB Eric Rodriguez
- What a performance by Eric Rodriguez. Not many people pass for almost 500 yards in a single game and then rush for another 100-plus yards. Rodriguez finished 30-46 for 453 yards, six touchdowns and rushed for another 113 yards on 17 carries. Rodriguez has passed for 1,020 yards and 11 touchdowns for the season already, leading Fort Bend Travis to a 3-0 record after a 53-49 victory over Spring.
2.Atascocita QB Brice Matthews
- What a bounce-back performance. Brice Matthews let it fly against Kingwood in a 70-10 victory last week. Matthews spread the ball around well, the Eagles finishing with three receivers over 100 yards apiece. Matthews only missed on six passes, did have one interception but that was a pass that bounced off a helmet and into the air. Matthews showed what he can do tossing the pigskin last week. Matthews finished 20-26 for 436 yards and five touchdowns.
3.St. Pius X Collin Wright
- St. Pius X was searching for its first victory. Facing Episcopal, a power program in the Southwest Preparatory Conference, the Panthers would have a big challenge. Leading big heading into the fourth quarter, St. Pius X had to hold off a late surge. Collin Wright played a big role with three interceptions, including one in the end zone at the end of regulation to secure a 32-29 victory. It was the first win of the Billy Noonan era at St. Pius X.
4.Huffman RB AJ San Miguel
- Huffman is off to a 3-0 start to the year and is coming off a 50-8 victory of Worthing. A big game was had by running back AJ San Miguel. The speedster broke loose for 22 carries for 156 yards and five touchdowns.
5.Mayde Creek WR Danny Huery
- Here come the Mayde Creek Rams! The Rams are off to a 3-0 start to the 2019 season and are fresh off a 45-21 victory over Nimitz. Danny Huery had a big night in that win, finishing with six receptions for 172 yards and had five carries for 53 yards and a score on top of that.
