DFW Volleyball Private School Sleepers
With the summer winding down, that means we're gearing up for the 2019-20 academic year. With the calendar focus shifting means the start of the volleyball season.
To lead things off, we take a look at the potential sleepers for the Southwest Preparatory Conference and TAPPS.
SPC Sleepers
Greenhill: The Hornets finished third last year for the second straight season after winning the SPC title in 2016. Last year, the Hornets improved their win total by seven games and finished 20-15. Senior setters Sarah Luan and Kaylee Chien return along with middle hitter Sola Omonije, who was named to the All-SPC Team last year.
TAPPS Sleepers
6A
Parish Episcopal: Despite finishing 22-11, Parish Episcopal missed out on the playoffs with a relatively young squad - graduating four from last year's squad. Parish Episcopal returns three seniors and five juniors in 2019.
5A
McKinney Christian: The Mustangs finished 19-12-2 and were bounced in their first playoff game in 2018. The 2019 squad returns with a great amount of experience that includes eight seniors and five juniors.
4A
Arlington Pantego Christian: With a reported 20-4 record, Pantego Christian is primed to make the next step to a TAPPS state title.
3A
Denton Calvary: Denton Calvary finished third in district and were able to take the top-ranked team in state to four sets during the lone playoff match.
