Hunting for another title: Flower Mound Lady Jaguars prep for playoffs
Finishing first in their district standings, the Lady Jaguars faced tough opponents this season-- quite possibly some of the toughest in the Dallas-Fort Worth area if not the entire state. Hosting incredible athletes like Haley Peek, Maddie Cantrell, Avery Cooper, Addison Huber, Maya Cordova, Berkeley Morey, and others, this team can be expected to make another deep playoff push as they hunt for the program's third state title.
Regular Season Play
Throughout non-district play, the Lady Jaguars showcased incredible effort on the field-- taking down each of the opponents that would prepare them for a tough district schedule, Flower Mound allowed only two goals against them in four games while defeating Arlington Martin, Allen, Frisco Reedy, and Byron Nelson.
Prepped and ready to take on their district schedule, the Lady Jaguars dropped just one game the entire season-- a tough 4-0 loss against Hebron. Learning from every teachable moment possible, Flower Mound outscored their district opponents by a combined 56-11 as they posted a 11-1-2 district record (15-1-2 overall). Through district play, the team took down strong opponents like Plano West, Coppell, Flower Mound Marcus, and more en route to the playoffs.
What's Ahead
With state titles in 2016 and 2021, the team is on the hunt for the program's third title. Looking to shut down any opponent that stands in their way, Flower Mound could be one of the toughest teams to emerge into 6A playoffs from the DFW-area. Playing with not only fire, but resiliency, the Lady Jaguars are quick to get ahead and stay ahead anytime they are on the field. These athletes can be expected to stay focused as they enter the playoffs.
The team's first game in the playoffs is schedule against McKinney Boyd at McKinney ISD Stadium on Tuesday, March 26 at 7:30 p.m. Be sure you catch these ladies in action as they prepare to take on their opponents!
