VYPE Houston Friday Night Lights Scoreboard (9.24.21): Tomball wins thriller, Stratford downs Cy-Fair
HOUSTON - It was another wild night of Texas high school football in Houston.
One of the biggest games of the night had to be out at Tomball ISD's new stadium as district rivals Tomball and Tomball Memorial locked horns in the annual Tomball Bowl.
It was "big brother" Tomball that came out with the 48-35 victory, capped by a wild play by Army-commit Cale Hellums where he did his best Johnny Manziel impersonation by running wildly before throwing a crazy touchdown pass with just four seconds left.
WHAT IN THE NAME OF @JManziel2!!! What a finish to the @FootballTomball win over Tomball Memorial!! @calehellums10 ran like 50 yards to make that throw!! #txhsfb @KPRC2RandyMc @MaxPreps @texashsfootball pic.twitter.com/ULrPWWPTey

The win moved Tomball to a perfect 5-0 on the year and they have now outscored opponents 220-100 on the season.
Another impressive win came from Klein Cain. Since that season-opening loss to Bridgeland on ESPNU, the Hurricanes have been a force. Now winners of four-straight contests including blowing out Klein, 42-14, on Friday. Klein Cain improves to 4-1 on the season.
.@KLEINCAINFB rolls to the 42-14 win over @BearkatFB. Huge game from @TCUFootball commit @MatthewGolden_2. Impressive night from @Carsonroper12 @DuncanPendleton as well. @KPRC2 @vypehouston pic.twitter.com/S5Y4W1MbPe

Other teams that kept the good times rolling were Grand Oaks as they move to 5-0 with a 50-6 win over Chavez; Magnolia West also moves to 5-0 and 3-0 in district after beating Caney Creek 42-6 on Friday. College Station also remained unbeaten in that district with a 35-6 win over New Caney.
It seems that College Station and Magnolia West are on a collision course for November 5, the regular season finale, being for the District Championship.
Other teams that remain undefeated after Week 5 include: CLASS 6A: Katy (5-0), Tomball (5-0), Tompkins (5-0), Summer Creek (4-0), Bridgeland (4-0), Cypress Park (4-0), Stratford (4-0), C.E. King (5-0), Spring (4-0), Westfield (4-0); CLASS 5A: College Station (5-0), Magnolia West (5-0), Angleton (5-0), Katy Paetow (4-0) and Baytown Lee (4-0); CLASS 4A: Huffman (5-0); Private School: St. John's (4-0), The Woodlands Christian Academy (4-0) and Bay Area Christian (5-0)

Looking towards next week already, there's a juicy showdown in District 14-6A as undefeated Spring and Westfield are set to collide. Last season, Spring won that game on a Hail Mary from Bishop Davenport to TJ Sims to win it at the end. What happens for the encore?

VYPE Houston Friday Night Lights Scoreboard (9.17.21): Willis Stuns A&M Consolidated; Full Scoreboard
HOUSTON - The Willis Wildkats went on the road on Friday night and knocked off No. 5 A&M Consolidated, 24-17, giving them a signature win heading into district play.
The Wildkats have been led this season by dual-threat QB Derek Lagway, who on Friday before the game received an offer from Texas Tech.
In the world of perfection, C.E. King improved to 4-0 to start a season for the first time since 2014. That year, the Panthers went on to go 10-2. Maybe this start is a sign of what's to come with District 21-6A play starting next week against Kingwood for the Panthers.

Clear Falls continued its hot start, ending Cinco Ranch's perfect season with an impressive home win. Dobie was also handed its first loss of the season by Dickinson, while Ridge Point bounced back from its first loss of the year with a dominant win over FB Austin, 64-0.
Huffman also joined the 4-0 club with a 37-20 victory over Navasota. Magnolia West, Grand Oaks, Klein Forest and Sam Rayburn - for only the second time in program history - also improved to 4-0. For Sam Rayburn, remember this was a program that prior to last year's 3-7 mark, from 2013 to 2020 went an abysmal 3-65 overall with five winless seasons in that mix.
