ROUNDING THIRD: Public School Baseball Rankings entering the postseason
With the final week of the regular season upon us, several teams have shaken up the overall outlook of the upcoming playoffs.
While Tomball and Pearland remain atop the rankings, teams such as Cinco Ranch, Klein Cain, and Kingwood have made significant runs to contend for district titles. Also, don't sleep on Ridge Point, Cy Ranch, Oak Ridge, Cy Woods, or Strake Jesuit as the postseason approaches.
In Class 5A, both Fulshear and Foster are neck-and-neck in District 20-5A, with both clubs having yet to be defeated against their district counterparts. Perennial challengers such as Friendswood, Porter, Lake Creek, and Kingwood Park are also likely to make considerable pushes in the coming weeks.

BASES LOADED: No. 8 Fulshear set to repeat in district and beyond
No. 8 -- Fulshear Chargers
2023: 26-10-1 (District 20-5A Champions/Regional Quarterfinalist)
The Chargers are coming off their first district title since 2019, and they should be more than ready for a repeat in 2024.
They’ll likely be contending with Foster and Lamar Consolidated once again, but 21-year head coach Robb Jensen always seems to have a plan when it comes to optimizing the talent he’s provided with on the diamond.
All-district honorees Ty Powell (Texas State-commit), Stefano Ramos, Mason Schultz, and Travis Reid will anchor this new-look group, with the intention of surpassing last year’s mark of an appearance in the round No. 3 of the playoffs.
Matt Macklin, Caven Fuentes and Koy Tollefson are also names to remember.
