Hockaday Daisies finish as SPC Runner-Up
Following the volleyball team's example, the Daisies' soccer program continued the trend of putting Hockaday on the map this season. Recording a fantastic record and entering the SPC Championship tournament on a high, Hockaday finished strong in the championship match. Coming in as the SPC Runner-Up this season leaves the Daisies not only something to be proud of but a goal for next season.
With a 5-0 undefeated division record (14-2 overall), the Hockaday Daisies recorded several big victories throughout the season. Wins over Prestonwood (4-0), Bishop Lynch (2-1), Kincaide (5-1), Greenhill (2-0), Oakridge (9-0), and others powered Hockaday to a strong playoff push that found themselves in the SPC Championship Tournament.
At the championship tournament, athletes like Kendall Newsome, Jaden Tomas, Bronwynn Blair, Katherine Shoup, Reese Dondero, Evita Nino, Mia Matthews, and others helped lead the Daisies to a semi-final shut-out victory over Greenhill (3-0) before falling in a hard-fought, close 2-1 championship battle against Bellaire Episcopal.
With a season to be proud of, the Daisies look toward rebuilding next year after a large graduating class leaves in May. Despite losing these seniors, fans can still expect great things from the leadership and upperclassmen of the 2024-25 season. Expect Hockaday to put in the work to build a strong team through the off-season before entering next year ready to roll!
